A Trauma Responsive Feldenkrais/SE Group With Dan Rindler GCFP, SEP
The Roots of Resilience is a small, in-person, group individually tailored to those with with trauma history who are currently in therapy and looking for support for getting back in touch with their body comfortably and safely.

Feeling out of touch with your body didn’t just happen randomly — at some point there was good reason to tune out certain sensations. However helpful it may have been in your past, losing connection with our body can come at considerable cost, as it informs our emotions, thoughts, decision making, and well-being.
Each group meeting will provide a gentle, accessible way to move towards feeling neurologically safer as you reconnect with your body’s sensations, including the protective responses that can arise due to past challenging experiences. We’ll do that through centering practices, guided movement explorations, and group/individual feedback and discussion.
The group is designed to be supportive and accessible for those who may experience panic attacks, anxiety, rumination, those who feel they’re often on “high alert” or conversely, feel they’re often distant or tuned out.
“Is this group therapy?” – No, but it is a group (rather than a class) and can be exponentially more supportive of trauma-healing than a typical movement class.
“Will I have to share my trauma history in the group?” Nope! We won’t be digging deep into talking through anyone’s history. While It may get challenging at times it won’t be due to talking about your past experiences. Instead, there will be invitations for feedback to share what you’re noticing (in sensation, thought, emotion, or impulse to move) in the present moment.
“How will this help me?” Here’s one former client’s experience:
“This opened a whole new world for me. It was a more comfortable first step than meditation, or yoga — this was a lot less intense. Overall, it brought me into the present and changed my thinking in regards to tuning into how I feel without getting overwhelmed.” – Chana, 2023
